Scene Storyboard exercise

Today I did a stoyboard on There will be blood and copied camera angles and things, I drew different camera shots and labelled everything.

Workshop Film Puzzle (Day1)

Today I did some editing on i movie and name some clip shots on the film Brokeback Mountain and had to put the locations in order to make it easier for me.

Evaluating Pre-Production

Original Ideas
In our first lesson of video production Chris told us that we were doing a chase scene Gary wasn't here, so I jotted down some decent ideas I didn't want to do anything with crime as i looked around and saw and heard other groups talking about stealing a bag and running away which for me is a bit too simple. And what me and Gary aimed to do was something different and adventurous.

Treatment
As we wanted something a little bit different we decided to go for a comedy chase as it was easy and different to what we thought other groups would do. We originally wanted it to be stupid but cool and experiment with the camera. As it was a funny scene, I thought that we should dress up in ridiculous clothes but when we were filming we didn't actually wear anything silly as it would be time consuming.

Storyboard
Both me and Gary came up with the storyboard, we discussed how we would do different camera shots and thought that the storyboard went well with the plot.

• Video Producton on minutes and action agreed was a group effort

• Then after filming we did the logging sheet which was done by the group.

My thoughts on Pre-Production

I thought that we all did well with Pre- Production but i have to say Gary put the most effort into the work especially with the script, but I know I came up with the original idea of a funny scene which sparked many more ideas as a group. I knew we all did well as a group and believed the plot and the chase would be far greater then anybody elses. I noticed that guys in a group did a story involving crime. A mixed gender group doing something easy and solid. But our group which was also an all guy group did something that an audience of a mixed gender would want and that was our idea and we all worked as a group to target that.

Gary and I are working together on a task of the chase scene. Gary was absent today so I decided to note a few things down. I was thinking of something original because most people would choose something to do with criminal law. But I want to do something different But at the moment can't think of anything.

On monday we had to do the editing and we lost a whole load of footage which we accidently recorded over. im glad we did that because it taught me that i must be very careful not to record over a scene we did, even if it was shabby footage i might like it if i was to edit something from that scene. i know i won't do something like this again. But Gary, Tom and I did the editing but it was very short.

then we did the storyboard on Frank And nigel and we both did it. then later on that week, we filmed the chase of frank and nigel running away we used the camera low down of us two running then we lost the footage as we were recording the scene when gary and i were in the flat which i thought was really effective.

later on that week gary and i chose to do the treatment we decided to it each and we called the scene Frank And Nigel. Frank is a vet and Nigel is a bus driver and they both lose their jobs and after a hectic day they return home and later on they get a knock on the door. its the landlord and we forgot to pay the rent. i thought it was a good idea and knew it would work.

Me and Gary chose to do a comedy scene for our chase scene which involves the landlord knocking the door because we forgot to pay the rent so we make a runner. originally i wanted to do something different as a chase scene would involve crime and something to do with the law. but i think we did something different to other ideas. ive also been very behind with the blogging as i had trouble getting into my blog.
